Whanganui River Canoes is a small, locally owned and operated business based in Raetihi at the Raeithi Holiday Park.
All trips leave from here, so you can leave your vehicles safe in the knowledge that they are secure.

Our complimentary vehicles will then transport you to the start of your tour for your journey on the world famous Whanganui River, once known as the Rhine of the Pacific, the longest navigable river in one of the most beautiful, untouched corners of New Zealand. 

Our trips include 3 to 5 day guided canoe experiences as well as freedom hire for you to explore the river at your leisure. The Whanganui river meanders it’s way from the mountains of the Central North Island down to the west coast before finally emerging at Wanganui.

The river provides a safe but fun trip that is ideal for canoe travel and has “just enough” rapids to keep things interesting with incredible scenery along the way. There are huts and campsites conveniently placed on route
